Short-Term Running Goals: Just keep running!
Long-Term Running Goals: Marathons...and maybe an Ultra Run if I really need a challenge. Personal: I am 26 years old. I am the Production Coordinator for all visual communications for Kiawah Island Real Estate. I've been a runner since high school, and I have a competitive nature that should explain my high mileage. I challenge myself to accomplish what I never imagined I could do, and I try to encourage myself and others to push their limits. I'm usually late to parties and social gatherings, since I have to get the run in first...(but luckily, I have great friends who acknowledge my routine). I suffered a bad case of plantar fasciitis March of 2010, and I picked up cycling/spinning while I recovered. Surprisingly, I totally loved it. I only ran on a whim or on weekends, or on vacation days when my gym was closed. This fall, I finally got back into the swing of things and started racing again. I'll try to update my races and runs more frequently. I'd like to be where I was 2 years ago....12 miles a day...I mean...what?!?! =)

| | Not too thrilled with the new 5:30 sun down....however the sunset was AMAZING last night. | Add Comment |
| | Excellent weather. Aside from the darkness it was a perfect run. | Comments(4) |
| | Absolutely perfect Saturday. 65°, clear and sunny. I was kind of beat though, since I ran 14 last night, about 15 hours earlier. Geez. I wish running could be a career. Like the more you run, the more money you make. That would be amazing. Too bad professional running isn't the same as the NFL or NBA. | Comments(6) |
| | So I tripped and fell during this run...terrible. Luckily it was dark and no one saw me. I was run off the sidewalk by a jerk on a bike, and I landed on my hip (note to self: try to get fatter hips to cushion the bone in the event of a fall). I think all is well, aside from a nasty bruise and a little bit of swelling. Bony hips = pain. Hips are a lot like the funny bone, they are equally un-funny upon impact. | Comments(2) |
| | No running today because of the hip. Instead, I stationary biked for 2 hours. Not sure of the distance because the screen wasn't lit. It was nasty and raining out anyway, so it was a decent workout. | Comments(3) |

Back to normal. The hip is really nasty bruised, but it's totally just a surface wound. It definitely pays to keep the bones healthy and strong. This bruise is sick, I'd post it but I want to keep my posts clean (ha ha).

| | A little chilly for Charleston, about 52°, cloudy, windy, and misty, but overall, it was great weather. If it dipped below 50, that would've been another story.

Awesome conditions for a long run. It was sunny and about 68°. I hit the road around 3:00 and finished a little after 6:00. Not bad. I then ordered some new shoes (Zappos.com is an amazing site. They have free shipping and free returns if shoes don't fit. They frequently offer free overnight shipping too). Anyway, I got the ASICS GEL Phoenix 3—these sound intense! Haha ASICS never let me down!

| | I closed on a house today, so I cut my run short to clean it from top to bottom! | Comments(2) |
| | Morning run before heading to my house to paint all day. | Add Comment |
| | 2 hours of stationary biking in the evening after another long day of painting. It was cold and rainy, so I wimped out of my usual long run. I might try for a long one Tuesday or Wednesday before my 5K on Thursday morning. | Comments(1) |
